The AquaConnect initiative, led by MECA, Herbiburbs, Abode R&D, and VZNB7D with support from Alinta Energy, is tackling food insecurity in Western Sydney. With **21% of households affected—many from migrant and refugee backgrounds—**access to nutrient-dense, culturally relevant food is not just a health issue, but a human right.
Aquaponics is our solution: a closed-loop system that uses 90% less water, grows plants up to 2x faster, and produces up to 10x more food per square metre.
